Home Health Services provides the following services to Dawson County: Skilled Nursing—RN visits are made on order of physicians. The frequency of visits depends on what care is needed and may include medication setup, health assessment, dressing changes, blood draws and other skilled nursing functions as ordered. Home Health Aide—Certified Nursing Assistants provide care in the home under the supervision of an RN. Services may include assistance with personal care, bathing, dressing, and ambulation, most often visits are made once or twice per week. Homemaker—Homemakers provide light housekeeping and assistance with laundry and shopping in both Glendive and Richey. Homemakers typically provide service twice per month for approximately 2 hours each visit. Services are limited to those over 60 years of age. Meals on Wheels—Meals are delivered at noon Monday—Saturday with the exception of major holidays. Participants must be 60 years of age or over and have difficulty in getting out of their home. Respite—Home Health Aides provide care to individuals in t heir own homes to allow caregivers a time away. Participants must be 60 years of age or older. Arrangements must be made in advance and care can range from a few hours per week on a regular basis to providing respite for an entire day intermittently. **All services are provided on a fee or donation basis. Public Health Home Visiting This program provides home visiting by a RN, Social Worker and Dietician to pregnant women and children. The goal of home visiting is to have healthy babies and children. Referrals to other programs and services are available to program participants and visiting may be a one time or ongoing event.
