What we do:

The Dawson County Human Resources Department is a central source responsible for providing a variety of human resource services for all Dawson County employees. These include identifying workforce needs, hiring, and retaining our dynamic, diverse workforce to create a quality employee experience. Along with human resource services, we also provide human resource tools, assistance and information to our internal and external customers.


How we do it:

The Human Resources Department assists in the effective and efficient utilization of employee resources by taking a lead role in the areas of planning, recruitment, training, development and employee relations. The Department also provides assistance with compensation, classification, collective bargaining and benefits. Additionally, the Department ensures that all these services are provided in a legal and ethical manner.


Why we do it:

The Department performs these functions to ensure the fair management and treatment of employees, and to ensure that County employees are well-trained, sufficiently supported and appropriately assigned job duties that accomplish the County’s goals in a cost-effective, efficient and safe manner.
