Community Complaints

The Environmental Health Program of the District Sanitarian  investigates community complaints primarily in the programs administered by the Sanitarian' Office. Complaint investigations are made in the following categories: Food Service, Septic Systems, Subdivisions, Public Water Supplies, Public Accommodations (motels/ hotels), Public and Semi-Public Swimming Pools and Spas, Trailer Courts, Group Homes, Day Care Centers, Animal Control, Solid Waste, Air and Water Pollution, and Junk Vehicles. When reporting a complaint you will be asked for name, address, and telephone number of the person, and/or property owner causing the complaint. Depending on the complaint, complaints are initially addressed by sending a letter to the responsible party giving a specified period of time to abate the problem. Follow-up inspections will be done for non-compliance.
