DAWSON
COUNTY 4-H COUNCIL COMMITTEES The Dawson County
4-H Council committees include, but are not limited to the following: LIVESTOCK
- This committee is
responsible for the planning of any 4-H activities that deal with livestock
projects. They shall plan and
conduct judging, showmanship and other workshops and contests.
Shall assist at the fair with weigh-in, sale order, carcass contest, and
selection of round robin showmanship judges.
Assist with promoting the livestock sale through publicity and personal
contacts. Assist with updating fair
book and submit necessary changes by March 1, if necessary. BUDGET
& AUDIT-
Help prepare budget for the upcoming year and audit the treasurer's books
while doing so. 4-H
BUILDINGS -
Help with upkeep and maintenance of the 4-H foodstand and the 4-H horse
barn. CRAFT
DAY -
Help plan and supervise different activities for the annual craft day.
This is usually held in the winter. OUT-OF-COUNTY
TRIPS -
Be on the selection committee to go over the out-of-county trip
applications for those desiring to be involved in these activities. DAY
CAMP -
Help plan and carry out the various activities of Day Camp, a one day
experience of fun and education. DRESS
REVUE -Help plan and
carry out the dress revue and make necessary changes in the fairbook. GRIEVANCE
-
This committee shall consist of the Executive Committee and the County
Extension Agent serving as an ex-officio member.
Should a grievance involve one, two or more members of the Executive
Committee, these members cannot serve on the committee and a new replacement
appointment will be made. Grievance
forms are available at the Extension Office. AWARDS & TROPHIES - Secure sponsors for the various fair awards and order such awards to be presented to the youth exhibitors at the fair.
