Dear Dawson County 4-H Members, Leaders and Parents,
DAY CAMP, JULY 24, 9:30 am-4:00
Day Camp has been set for Tuesday, July 24 at 9:30 am with registration at the
4-H building at the fairgrounds. We will have some fun craft activities and
play games. Lunch will be served at noon. The day will conclude about 4:00 pm.
Please have someone pick you up at the fairgrounds. No leaders will be there
after 4:00 p.m.
Here is a rundown of the projects. You will be making a modge podge bottle.
You will need a big glass bottle for this. If you have one you can bring, like
a wine bottle, please do so. You also need to bring your favorite material if
you have some to modge podge with, or you can use our supply. You need to
bring a colored t-shirt for our iron on flip flop or football t-shirt project.
We will be making a hypertufa planter bowl with cement and peat moss. The
final project will be a flower pot scarecrow.
Day Camp is open to all Dawson County 4-H'ers and Cloverbuds. We could use
junior leaders for helpers. We need the junior leaders to be in charge of
games for the last hour.
If you sold three credits of fruit you get to go FREE. If you did not sell
that many or have used up all your credits, the cost is $5. Lunch is included
in this.
YOU NEED TO REGISTER BY July 20 so we know how many are coming for lunch &
craft plans. No late registrations accepted. Call now! 377-4277. Please bring
l dozen cookies per family for snacks, bring your pre-washed t-shirt, wine
bottle and favorite material.

drill, hammers, nails & paint brushes to do some fix up work where needed.

questions. Bring along your buckets and rags as the foodstand needs to be
cleaned also.
PICTURES FOR THE PAPER- July 31
Every year the Ranger Review has a full page ad about 4-H clubs, projects and
members. We need pictures representing different activities, projects, etc.
Will your club be represented? We hope so. Bring your pictures into the
Extension office By July 31. You may also want to put together a club picture
collage for the fair.

The dress revue has been set for Thursday, Aug 2 at the Courthouse Community
Room. Practice will start at 1:30 p.m., judging will take place at 3:00 p.m.

FAIR ENTRY BLANKS - Due July 27
Enclosed are your entry blanks–do not misplace them as this is the only one
you will receive. If you are planning on entering your 4-H projects in the
fair you need to pre-register by Friday July 27. We are doing things like last
year and will have everyone entered on a computer program and therefore need
advance entries earlier to get all of you on the computer. If you are not
pre-registered, you will not have an entry blank at the fair, you won't be on
the computer sheet for the judges and you will not get a premium check at the
fair as the computer will do all of that for us this year. REMEMBER THEY ARE
DUE BACK TO THE OFFICE BY JULY 27!
The 4-H fair book is printed and available for you to pick up here at the
Extension Office. We encourage every new family to get a book. Most of the
other families have one from the past couple years. If you are in vet science,
range, poultry, cowboy poetry and photography; these items have changed in the
past couple years and you may want to stop by the office and get a new 4-H
fair book. If you cannot find your 4-H fair book, you can stop by and pick up
a new one. They are a little bulky to mail, so stop by and pick yours up. We
would like for you to put it in your blue or red 4-H binder that you should
have around the house putting all of your 4-H letters into. Save the fair book
as we do not print them each year to save money. Pick up your entry tags and
stall cards at the office also. You can also pay your stall fees.
Clip & post on your bulletin board or frig so you know what’s going on during
the upcoming weeks:
